Vernon Valley Teleport
Vernon Valley Teleport (VVT) offers coverage from 3 Degrees to 143 Degrees West, covering the US domestic arc as well as Central America, South America, Africa and Europe regions. VVT is located on 128 acres in Vernon Township, nestled in the mountainous Northwest New Jersey area, and less than 60 miles from New York City and Newark Liberty International Airport. Built in 1975 by RCA Americom to provide satellite services to the US broadcast networks, VVT was acquired in 2015.
In addition to its array of medium and large-aperture antennas serving GEO, MEO and LEO satellites, the VVT site provides up to 36,000 s/f of colocation space in two buildings and open land for additional antennas. These secure facilities are hardened by a 12 kV utility power service, six diesel generators and five UPS systems – all within a perimeter security fence with controlled access and monitored with CCTV video surveillance.
